It is a Dormant Volcano located in Curepipe, Mauritius
Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano with a well-defined cone and crater. It is 605 m (1,985 ft) high and located in Curepipe, Mauritius.
Measuring more than 984 feet in diameter, this crater was formed as a result of volcanic activity millions of years ago.
The views from here were amazing the day we visited. You could see for miles and it was a very pleasant walk (although a little windy) from the car park to the volcano. Definitely worth a visit.
It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs volcano erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years. From the view point on the crater you will have a spectacular view of major part of Mauritius Island.
