Brindavan Sarvajanik Mandir, Palma

Brief on Mandir as per the web page of the temple.

During the British rule it was allowed to hold religious discourses only in places of worship. The contemporary prof. Basoodeo Bissoondoyal while in prison, urged upon the Hindus to construct as many places of worship so that Sermons on Bhagwat Gita, Ramayan and Vedas could be held without any restriction.

Hence the construction of the Mandir by his close collaborators of Palma and ,which was named BRINDABAN SARVAJANIK MANDIR by the Professor himself ,At that early time the Mandir comprised of only a Shivlingum , a Mahaveer Swami chasbutra and later a natural cave in the premises which was converted to a Durga Maa Mandir in 1943.

Along side the Temple of worship the Managing Committee has also set up a Temple of Knowledge.

A fully fledged BRINDABAN MULTI-PURPOSE EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION has been set up since 2005.This institution is registered with the Ministry of Education and HR and the CSR Committee.
